The South Australian Government is committed to supporting the economic participation of Aboriginal businesses and communities in state-funded projects. This commitment drives the growth of South Australia's Aboriginal business sector and creates meaningful employment opportunities for Aboriginal people across the state.
To support this goal, a range of initiatives has been developed to better position Aboriginal businesses to engage successfully with the South Australian Government. These initiatives focus on creating clear pathways for effective participation in government procurement.
Key goals of the Aboriginal Economic Participation Initiative include:
- Expanding opportunities for South Australian Aboriginal people to build prosperity through active involvement in the local economy.
- Leveraging government procurement to generate jobs, strengthen the Aboriginal business sector, and collaborate with Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs).
- Building the capacity of Aboriginal businesses and ACCOs to competitively engage in both government and private sector contracts.
This approach ensures that Aboriginal businesses and communities play a vital role in South Australia’s economic growth and development. For additional resources, please visit Supporting South Australian Aboriginal Procurement.
