For the South Australian Government and Local Government, tender opportunities are predominantly available through the SA Tenders and Contracts portal.

To view current government opportunities, visit www.tenders.sa.gov.au

To access tender documents and to lodge tenders, you will need to register on the site, and registration is free.

  • You can create multiple registrations for the one business so multiple people can access the site.
  • As there are new opportunities added nearly everyday, it pays to visit the site on a regular basis or you can set up automatic alerts emailed to you about tenders that have been released to market.
  • You can search and create alerts based on a range of criteria.
  • You can also access past tenders to learn more about the types of opportunities released to market and how best to prepare your business for similar tenders aligned to the same type of good or service.
  • There is also a mobile app you can access, and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

Another resource is the Planned Procurement Activity List which contains a summary of information on forward procurement for goods and services, and minor construction projects. The list is located in the ‘future tenders’ section of the SA Tenders and Contracts website.

Tips for using SA Tenders & Contracts

  1. The SA Tenders and Contracts site also includes copies of contracts that have been awarded. This provides details on what Government buys and when contracts are expiring presenting opportunities for your business to prepare for upcoming tenders before they are released.
  2. When setting up an alert on a tender website, make sure you use the correct spelling and terminology to avoid missing out on opportunities for your business.
  3. Don’t leave it to the last minute to register or to lodge a tender response. Tenders have exact deadlines and extensions are not usually granted.
  4. Before lodging a tender response, make sure you have completed all of the relevant sections as in some cases, this can lead to your bid being set aside as non-compliant.
  5. Double check that you upload your response to the correct tender as there may be multiple tenders in the market for similar goods and services.
