If you are successful in winning a tender, firstly… Congratulations! After the communication of your successful outcome, the buyer will then contact you to commence your contractual engagement to begin the delivery of the good or service you agreed to supply.

Once a tender has been awarded, you begin the contract management stage. Depending on the length of the contract, your engagement may involve regular contact with a contract manager.

As well as relying on terms and conditions, a successful contract is built on a strong relationship and strong communication, as well as successful risk management, progress monitoring, performance measures and delivery requirements.

To help you with the contract management phase of your project, consider these helpful tips:

  • Keep in regular contact with your contract manager and build a relationship with them.
  • Keep a record of all correspondence, invoices, variations and important documents.
  • Manage your progress with the project independently and keep a record of your progress.
  • Track and report your Industry Participation commitments as per your Industry Participation Plan. Contact the Office of the Industry Advocate should you require assistance.
