When preparing your bid, ensure you have thought about the format and layout of the response and supporting documentation. Most tender specifications will normally include a response template (often called a Part D) for you to fill in and this will stipulate the format that is required.

For ease of evaluation it is important to stick to this format. This will ensure your response is clear, succinct and addresses all requirements. By not responding to a tender using the response template, you run the risk of complicating your bid, making it harder for the evaluation team to review your response and potentially missing out on winning a tender.

If the tender specification hasn’t requested any particular format still be sure to keep your response clear, logical and well organised.

In addition, make sure all supporting material within your response is clearly highlighted and can be read in conjunction with the overall response.

Quick Tip   -   Avoid the temptation to include copious quantities of brochures and promotional materials. They often are of limited value to the evaluation team and should all bidders submit large amounts of additional material, the overall tender process would be more drawn out.
