In deciding to submit a bid for a tender, make sure you carefully read and understand the tender documents and have a full understanding of what is required in your response.

Although it may seem obvious, it’s good to ensure:

  1. You are responding to the right tender before you prepare to lodge your bid. There has been examples of responses being submitted against the wrong tender.
  2. Make sure you respond to the requirements as detailed in the specification.

Quotes

For quotes, only a basic response is required with pricing information and confirmation of your ability to deliver to the specification.

Tenders

For more complex procurements, such as a Request for Tender (RFT), a detailed response that answers all requests detailed in a ‘Part D’ response form is required. This often includes information about your business, specific information about your ability to meet the specification for the good or service, detailed commercials (including price), and your response to the proposed contract or agreement.
